Harvard Affirmative Action Is Over
Affirmative appointments, while intended to address historical inequalities, can be seen as problematic due to potential concerns of fairness, meritocracy, and unintended consequences. Critics argue that such appointments may undermine the principles of equal opportunity and may lead to individuals being hired or promoted based on factors other than qualifications and skills. In other words, racism in reverse.
Current Harvard acceptance rate:
- Black 56.1%
- Latinos 31.3%
- White 15.3%
- Asian 12.7%
Yet Biden says today's ruling is a step backward in the fight against racism.
